Abstract

1409617 Thermal regenerators BENNES MARREL 11 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972] 47453/73 Heading F4K. In a rotary thermal regenerator, a layer 4 of flexible refractory material such as asbestos and a plurality of obliquely extending drive transmitting members 14 are located between a ceramic disc 1 and a surrounding annular steel ring gear 2. The layer 4 is clamped in position by a plurality of side-by-side collars 5, 6 each of which has its opposite ends joined together by means of blocks 8, 9 and connecting bolts 10. Resilient washers 12 are disposed between the bolt head 11 and block 9. Each drive transmitting member 14 is hinged to the annulus 2 by way of two headless screws 15 and to the collar block 8 by way of a transverse pivot pin 13. The collars 5, 6 are angularly offset with respect to one another so as to evenly distribute the members 14 around the ceramic disc.
