140,737. Poulle, J. March 22, 1919, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Valve-gear. - An engine with a central combustion space has its cylinders arranged tangentially to a circle concentric with the main shaft. The piston 11 carries rollers which engage a cam-track 8 in a rotary member 3, 4, 5 mounted. upon ball bearings 19, 20, the cam being designed so that two cycles are completed every revolution. One or more inlet valves 25 and one or more exhaust valves open into a common combustion space 18, the valves being actuated by face-cams 39 carried by a detachable cover-plate 1, upon which is mounted the valve mechanism. A member 2 which rotates with the driving-cam is secured to a power shaft 50 carrying a gear-wheel 57 for actuating a magneto and accessories.
