Working valves.-A hydraulic control valve of the type controlled by a balanced auxiliary valve concentrically mounted in the main valve, has the main valve in the form of a hollow plunger provided with two distinct series of perforations so arranged that the fluid passages will be c l o s e d when the plunger is in either of its extreme positions and has means for admitting pressure fluid to the pilot valve without passing through the actuating - piston. The valve member 14 works in L-leathers 18 arranged, between the pressure inlet chamber 11, the exhaust chamber 12, and the circulating-chamber 13, so that the pressure liquid feeds into the circulating-chamber over the heel of the leather. The pilot valve 19 is packed by leathers 21 and works in a barrel formed integrally with the actuating-piston to control a port 27 leading to the chamber behind the piston. Pressure fluid is admitted through a pipe 24 to an annular chamber 23 having ports 27 passing through the pilot-valve barrel, and is exhausted through ports 27<a>.
