Abstract

1404175 Hinges; clamps ING C OLIVETTI & C SpA 27 Sept 1972 [29 Sept 1971[ 44708/ 72 Heading E2B and E2F In a hinge for the articulated connection of two partition panels, first and second hinge elements 37, 38 are pivotally interconnected about a pin 41 and include means for clamping each hinge element to a T-shaped connecting element 3 of a panel 1. The first hinge element 37 comprises a first block 42 hinged to a first block 42 of the second hinge element 38 and a second block 51 is connected to each first block 42 by screw means 54 operable to adjust the spacing between the opposed edges of the first and second blocks to enable the connecting elements 3 of the first and second parts to be clamped between the first and second blocks 42, 51. The screw means 54 comprises a screw extending through a hole in the second block 51 and engaging a threaded hole in the first block 42, a spring 57 being provided between the blocks 42, 51. The head of the screw has a lug 55 which is adapted to engage a face 85 of the block 51 when the two blocks are brought together to clamp the connecting element.
