Abstract

1406166 Clamps BREMSHEY AG 16 April 1973 [19 Feb 1973] 18166/73 Heading E2B The jaws 1, 2 of a screw-operated clamp for fastening cylindrical objects 3 together have outer profiles which are curved down to lips 5 which do not close round the objects gripped. The jaws are also tapered down towards each other in the longitudinal directions, so that a smooth outer profile, without projecting corners, is presented. In Fig. 3, hollowed out regions H reduce weight, and sliding dowel pins 16, 17 prevent misalignment of the jaws. Resilient jaw faces 30 may be used. For gripping flat panels, a resilient insert 18 may be used, Fig. 8, this insert being secured by screws in bores (33, Fig. 12, not shown) to the panels. A multiple jaw clamp is described (Figs. 13-15, not shown).
