Abstract

1328363 Chuck gauge A BAUTZ 23 Nov 1970 [22 Nov 1969] 55614/70 Heading B3B A chucking gauge for a three jaw chuck comprises a first member 6 having two bearing edges 8, 9 inclined to one another and bearing against jaws 4, 5 and a second member, e.g., a screw 14, adjustable to engage the third jaw 3 to clamp the jaws while they have their gripping surface machined. The body 6 is in the form of an equilateral triangle and having a cavity 13 to receive the free end of the screw 14. In a second embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the second member is in the form of a wedge which acts in conjunction with a triangular first member. In a third embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the jaws are gripped externally by a member having a triangular internal cavity and a clamping screw extending adjustably from one of its sides. In a fourth embodiment (Fig. 7, not shown) both the first member in the form of a slide having a pair of inclined surfaces and the second member in the form of a screw, are adjustable within a disc frame having a rectangular opening, and the jaws are clamped externally.
