Hasp locks; locking sliding latches; spring mechanism.-In a lock for attachÚ cases &c., the bolt c, which locks the latch a in position by the engagement of the shoulders c<1>, a<1>, is itself provided with an extension c<2> which takes into the catch-plate. A single spring d, secured to the back-plate at b<4>, and held by a bent tongue b<10>, controls both the locking-bolt and the latch. Pins b<2>, b<3> engaging in slots c<3>, c<4> guide the bolt, and one or more stamped-up tongues b<7> guide the latch. The parts are assembled on the backplate, and the cover is then placed in position, the stem of the latch-button being passed through a hole a<3>, and riveted over, access to it being had through a hole in the back-plate.
