Latches, sliding; hasp fastenings.-In a fastening for a dispatch case, travelling bag, or other case or receptacle, the sliding spring latch d is withdrawn bv the movement in two directions of a spring-controlled piece j, the recessed end j<1> of which engages the tail d<2> of the latch. The piece j is attached to an external knob by a pin h, which traverses an L- or like shaped slot g in the lock casing b, Fig. 5, thus preventing the accidental disengagement of the latch d before it has been locked by the key-operated tumbler e.
