Abstract

1401335 Pipe couplings PONT-A-MOUSSON SA 29 Sept 1972 [4 Nov 1971] 44943/72 Heading F2G Hardenable material 9, embedding ring 7, allows traction forces to be distributed evenly around shoulder 6, irrespective of the degree of misalignment of the pipe axes. To form the joint, a gap in ring 7 is held sufficiently wide open, by a wedge 11, to allow projection 2 to pass beyond the ring. On removing the wedge, the ring seats against the outer surface of the pipe, locking its end in the recess 5. The joint is sealed by means of an elastomeric ring G and secured by the hardenable material 9, which is, e.g. a mixture of sand and epoxy resin.
