Abstract

139,915. Curtis, F. C. April 8, 1919. Regulating-switches. - A resistance switch for theatre dimming is aranged with its sliding member resting on the resistance contacts and the busbar contact. The contacts c are carried by an insulating-member c<1> secured to the frame f by screws f<1>, and are connected to the resistance units r. The bar conductor a is carried opposite the contacts c on the insulator a<3> and is connected to the terminal a<1>. The slider has an insulating handle w<1> carrying a metal plate w<3>, which rests on the upper edge of the contacts c and the bus-bar a. A second metal plate w' and distance-pieces w<5> are secured to the upper plate w<3> by nuts and bolts. At one side of the slider, the distance-pieces w<5> form a sliding contact with the bus-bar a. At the other side, a channelshaped contact is slipped over the distance-piece and is pressed against the contacts c by springs s set in pockets in the distance-piece. The detachable casing is secured to the framework by setscrews f<5>.
