Hasp fastenings; seal fastenings. - Relates to fastening-devices for boxes, crates, &c. of the type comprising two hingedly connected members, one secured by screws to the box and the other having a bent extremity to engage the lid of the box, with means for securing the members together in closed position, so that when in the latter position, the two members are in face-to-face contact and the securing screws of the one member are covered by the other member. The member b secured to the box &c. e by the screws d and the other member a hinged at c are secured together in closed position with the bent extremity j of the member a engaging the lid k of the box &c. by means of the sliding sleeve f which takes behind the bent upper end of the part b. The sleeve is retained in engaging position by passing a wire through an aperture i in a pin h fixed to the member a, the ends of the wire being twisted together and sealed with a metal or other seal n.
