Abstract

Lids; corner joints.-In order to prevent an attache case, suit case, &c. from opening if the usual fastening device for the lid is unintentionally released, the ends of the lid are formed with tabs b<17>, b<18> adapted to be secured to the ends of the body a of the case by press-buttons or other fastening-devices c<1>, c<3>. The lid b is hinged to the body of the case by parts b<12> - - b<16> integral with the lid, the arrangement being such that the lid cannot be turned back beyond its vertical position unless considerable force is exerted. Separate end members a<7>, a' of the body of the case are secured inside the lower portions of end flaps a<9>, a<10> and outside the upper portions of these flaps.
