Abstract

1391222 Automatic circuit-breakers C M C CHARLES MAIER & CIE 27 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 44520/72 Heading H1N A double-break circuit-breaker has two fixed contacts (not shown) and a bridging moving contact 5 or two interconnected moving contacts, the fixed and moving contacts extending into arcing chambers 2 on both sides of an insulating wall 1 which separates the "breaks" from one another and supports the various components of the circuit-breaker. The chambers 2 have magnetic blow-out plates 9, which may be U-shaped as shown, and contain copper quenching plates 8. The wall 1 also separates the vents from the chambers. The operating and tripping mechanism of the circuit-breaker is similar to that of Specification 1,388,599.
