Abstract
1389820 Conveyers TORVALE HOLDINGS Ltd 4 May 1972 [5 May 1971] 13285/71 Heading B8A A load, travelling on a conveyer 19 carried by a platform 15 causes the conveyer 19 to be deactivated and the platform 15 to be rotated about a vertical axis, this rotation being halted' and the conveyer 19 restarted after a predetermined rotation. The load is fed on to the conveyer 19 by a first conveyer 10 and strikes a roller 22 carried by a pivotal lever 23 to deactivate a motor 20 driving the conveyer and to release a latch (30, Fig. 3), locking the platform 15 to a post 28 adjacent the conveyer 10. The lever 23 also energizes cylinders 17 the piston rods 18 of which are attached to the ends of a cable coiled round an axle assembly 16 supporting the platform 15, so as to rotate the platform. After rotation through 90 degrees, the actuating member 26 of a switch 25 on the platform 15 strikes a post 29 to de-energize the cylinders 17 and re-energize the motor 20, the platform being locked to the post 29 by a further latch (30). Thus the load is fed on to a roller conveyer 13 which is pivotal about a horizontal axis, and is fed to the end thereof to strike a stop, not shown, which releases the further latch (30) and energizes the cylinders 17 to return the platform to its original position. The chains of a chain conveyer 11 lie between the rollers of the conveyer 13 so that when the load strikes the stop, the conveyer 13 is lowered and the load transferred to the chain conveyer 11.
