Abstract

1389182 Delivering measured quantities of fluent material C T SMITS 4 Jan 1973 [6 Jan 1972] 607/73 Heading B8N A device for delivering measured quantities of material from a silo comprises a housing 1 having an inlet 10 and first and second outlets 5, 6, a slide 13 movable in the housing from a material-receiving position beneath the inlet to a delivery position above the first outlet, and a movable closing member 22 which when moved together with the slide diverts the material through the second outlet. Normally the slide 13 is urged by springs 23 towards the left to its charging position beneath the inlet 10 so that its bottom end is covered by a plate 11 and a blanking-off plate 14 projects through the side of the housing. When the slide is pulled to the right to its discharge position by a cord 25, its contents fall straight down through the first outlet 5 and the blanking-off plate 14 covers the inlet 10. When the closing member 22 is pulled to the right by a cord 26, the end plate 21 slides over the plate 11 and carries the slide 13 to its discharge position where its contents fall down the sloping surface of the closing member 22 into the outlet 6.
