Abstract

1388435 Phosphating metal surfaces PYRENE CHEMICAL SERVICES Ltd 21 Nov 1973 [22 Aug 1972] 39119/72 Heading C7U A metal surface, e.g. Zn, Fe or Al, is phosphated using an aqueous solution (pH 3 to 6) comprising (parts by weight) 0À025 to 10 PO 4 , 0À07 to 15 ClO 3 , 0À001 to 2À0 simple F, and 0À001 to 0À5 of a metal accelerator selected from Fe, Ni or Co, the solution being free of other heavy metal ions. The accelerator may be introduced as acetate, sulphate, chloride, phosphate or nitrate. The coating may be rinsed with hexavalent Cr.
