Abstract

1386678 Terminals SIEMENS AG 26 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 25093/72 Heading H2E A connector is secured to a single wire conductor 14 by means of a screw 15 inclined at an accute angle to the axis of the conductor, and comprises a body of sheet metal folded to form a contact 5 at one end and a channel shaped portion at the other end with a central portion 16 and arms 7 which hold a conductor-receiving member 6 by means of projections 11, the member 6 also being channel shaped with arms 10 engaged by the screw 15 The screw 15 has a frusto-conical end 20 with a peripheral knifeedge 21 for biting into the conductor. A plastics sheath 23 is applied. In another embodiment, the knife edge is omitted and the screw bears against a pressure plate (25) to press the plate against the wire, sharp edged projections (27, 28) being provided on the surfaces of the plate (25) and central portion (16) which engage the conductor.
