Abstract

The connector terminal for external conductor leads is in the form of a cage (2) containing a rotatable eccentric (6) acted on by a spring bias and clamping the end of the inserted connector lead. The cage (2) is made from bent sheet metal with a bent edge which acts as a pivot for the rotatable eccentric (6), with a torsion spring (7) inserted between the pivot edge and the eccentric (6). The helical portion of the torsion spring (7) causes the eccentric to rotate about the pivot point and the straight portion of the torsion spring maintains the eccentric in position in the cage (2). Two such connector terminals may be mounted face to face within an insulating block (1), with a conductive bar (3) connecting the two terminals.
