1386579 Coin boxes REYNOLDS PRODUCTS Inc 15 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 12593/73 Heading G4V A device 18 for releasably coupling a coin mechanism (10) to a coin receptacle (16) (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) comprises a first housing 20 secured to the coin mechanism, a second housing 88 secured to the receptacle, an intermediate member 44 receivable in the housings and having a coin passage 82 therethrough, means for releasably interengaging the housings and means 78 for blocking the coin passage and locking the intermediate member to the second housing when the housings are disengaged. In the embodiment described the intermediate member carries a lock 30 on the shaft 76 of which is mounted the shutter plate 78, and is located in the lower housing 88 by flats (84), 86 which co-operate with flats 98, 100 on the housing (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown). The housings are interengaged by bayonets slots (90), 92 in the lower housing and studs 38, 40 on the upper housing, a fixed key 28 mounted in the upper housing holding the lock-shaft 76 against rotation during the interengaging operation so that a cut-out 112 in the shutter plate aligns with the coin passage 82. The housing may be locked in the interengaged condition by a dog 36 of a lock 34 entering a slot 114 in the lower housing. On separation of the housings the shutter plate rotates relative to the lower housing and intermediate member to block the coin passage and lock the intermediate member to the lower housing by engagement of the shutter plate with shoulders (102), (104) on the housing.
