1332288 Travelling cylinder machine JANOME SEWING MACHINE CO Ltd 23 May 1972 [28 May 1971 2 June 1971] 24305/72 Heading B6C In a travelling cylinder machine in which the printing surfaces comprise horizontally disposed upwardly facing credit card, date type and accounting variably selected type, the cylinder 8, Fig. 1 cannot be used for a second printing run unless a manually depressible button 42 is actuated to thus release means which lock the cylinder in a non-printing position. The button can be held down if twisted through 180 degrees thus allowing the cylinder to run freely in both directions. To make this possible the means connecting the button to the locking means incorporates a resilient member in the form of a resilient lever 39 (Fig. 2, not shown) which bends and absorbs any mechanical strain during the "free travel" condition of the cylinder phase.
