Abstract

1347735 Shackles BROOKES & ADAMS Ltd 10 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 53058/71 Heading F2Q A snap shackle comprises a body 11 having an aperture 12 which is adapted to be secured to a sheet, a hasp 15 pivotally mounted at 16 on the body 11, and a spring-loaded plunger 13 which is adapted to retain the hasp 17 in a closed position and is provided with locking means. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the locking means comprise a head 14 rotatably mounted on the plunger 13 and having a knurled peripheral part 18 which, in the locked position, is adapted to underlie a projection 19 on the body 11. A gap 20 in the part 18 enables the head 14 to clear the projection 19 to release the hasp 17. The head 14 is located angularly by recesses 22, 23 in the head co-operating with a projection 21 on the body II.
