Abstract

1384120 Lamp caps and holders VARIAN ASSOCIATES 11 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 22062/72 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] The cap of a gas discharge lamp (see Division H1), comprises a metallic sleeve 28 and a central pin 24 connected to respective electrodes of the lamp and separated by a ceramic cylinder 40. The holder includes a socket 37 to receive pin 24 and prongs 32 which bear against sleeve 28. Ceramic insulation 42 has projections 41 which with cylinder 40 define a labyrinthine passage between the metallic parts at different voltages. A sealing ring 36 is provided on the lamp base. The space 45 can be filled with porcelain.
