Abstract

138,287. Dawson, Sir A. T., and Buckham, Sir G. T. Dec. 3. 1917. Recoil apparatus.-Consists in mounting a buffer-tank K on the gun barrel A, either surrounding it, as shown, or on one side of, or above it. A glazed inspection opening k' and a safety-valve are provided in the tank. The invention is shown applied to the hydro-pneumatic recoil and runout apparatus described in Specification 138,131, wherein the brake cylinder recoils with the gun. The tank is connected to the rear end of the brake cylinder by a pipe K<1>.
