Abstract

138,228. Mumford Ltd., A. G., and Mumford, A. G. April 14, 1919. Alloys.-An alloy, specially suitable for making castings for floats for feedwater-regulators and for other purposes where the articles are subjected to high temperatures and pressures, is made by first preparing a white metal alloy of 61 per cent of tin, 29.7 per cent of copper, and 9.3 per cent of zinc, and afterwards mixing 19.64 per cent of this alloy and 80.36 per cent of copper. The articles required are made by casting the alloy in iron chills.
