Abstract
162,348. Hosack, H. H. Jan. 15, 1920. Casting processes; moulds.-The metal in the top of a mould 1 is kept hot to prevent piping by an arc between the surface of the metal and a carbon anode 5; this is assisted by a vacuumjacketed hood 3, bright inside, as described in Specification 133,117, which holds the electrode 5 in an insulating-block 6.
