Abstract
An ingot mould is cast from an alloy of blast furnace iron, containing over 3 per cent of carbon, and 5 per cent or more steel, containing 0,1 to 0,4 per cent of carbon. The steel is preferably made by treating a charge of the iron in a Bessemer converter.
