Casting processes.-A high grade cast iron is produced by casting the molten iron from the blast furnace in chilled moulds which may be sprinkled with water and then remelting the iron so produced in electric, cupola, or reverberating furnaces. Instead of casting in chilled moulds the molten iron may be poured into water.
