Alloys.-A method of producing and working alloys containing large proportions of nickel, such as iron-nickel alloys, comprises melting together the elements, cooling the melt until it solidifies, immediately remelting, then immediately casting, and thereafter working the casting, for example by rolling or forging, without subjecting it to an annealing temperature or process. The melting may be carried out in an induction furnace. An alloy containing 80 per cent of nickel and 20 per cent of iron is referred to.
