Abstract

1381164 Drying garments on formers KANNEGIESSER MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 14 Jan 1972 [7 May 1971 10 May 1971] 1920/72 Heading F4G A washed garment is put on to a shaping member 11 (or 12 or 13), at an operating station 34 by an operator 22, the shaping member 11 is carried by 120 degrees rotations of the turntable 10 to a first treatment chamber 26 where the garment is dried by hot air, to a second treatment chamber 27 where the garment is cooled by cold air, and back to the operating station 34 for removal of the dried and shaped garment. The garment is adjustably clamped to the shaping member 11 by plates 14 and 15 to clamping position via levers by the weight of the shaping member 11 which is connected by parallel links to the turntable 10, the shaping member 11 being raised by a piston and cylinder 31 at the operating station 34 to move the plates 14, 15 away from the shaping member 11. The hot and cold air is supplied to the inside of the garment through apertures in the shaping member 11, holes in the turntable and ducts 49 extending below the turntable, by means of separate fans 39, 40. The hot air is recirculated together with some air drawn in through duct 43, but the cold air is all drawn into the chamber through conduit 45 and exhausted through duct 44. The garment may be steamed in the first chamber 26 before drying, and may be dried in the second chamber 27 before cooling by means of valves 47, 48 and a two-way deflector at the outlet of the fan 40, whereby the changeover from hot to cold air is made abruptly.
