Abstract

137,994. Percival, S., (Camp, E.). May 15, 1919. Gas-mixing appliances.-A device for mixing the air and combustible vapour from a carburettor comprises a plate 9 adapted to be inserted between the carburettor and the engine induction pipe and having wings or baffles 11 stamped or cut out from the central portion thereof, which is of substantially the same diameter as the induction pipe. The wings are inclined at different angles to the plane of the plate so as to produce separate helical currents of different pitch. To facilitate mixing, the wings may be corrugated. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the plate 9 has a number of inwardly and upwardly pointing projections 11. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 145,067, [Class 7 (iii), Air and gas engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for].
