Abstract

1379226 Knitting-machines A KIRKLAND & CO Ltd 16 Feb 1972 [17 Feb 1971] 4806/71 Heading D1C A circular machine includes a cam with a stepped edge for cooperating with stepped needle butts, so that faultily positoned needles are diverted. In the embodiment shown, dividing cam 14 has a leading guiding edge 30 of reduced height. This edge cooperates with portion 33 of a faultily positioned needle butt to divert the butt into track 22. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown), the leading guiding edge (41) is along the top edge of the dividing cam and cooperates with an extended butt portion at the top edge of the butt.
