Abstract

1378808 Punching BTM CORP 26 Sept 1972 [8 Oct 1971] 44476/72 Heading B3W [Also in Division F1] A ram 64 carrying a punch 66 to form a hole in a workpiece 75 is actuated by an oscillating piston 86 and coupled thereto by a pair of links 78, 80 and pins 82, 84, fluid pressure being applied to the piston through passageways 48, 58 alternately. A toggle linkage system is said to be defined by the piston and links. A stripper 70 is loaded by a spring 72. A screw 34 adjusts the height of a button 30. Several punches may be disposed side-by-side, the pistons being either independent or ganged by pins (not shown) in holes 106 with side plates 18, 20 omitted as necessary, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
