A die-set for drawing and piercing sheet metal 12, Figs. 2 and 2A (not shown), to form a flange 18 surrounding a hole 17 comprises a piercing punch 1 surrounded by a drawing die 5, and a combined piercing die and drawing punch 8, 9 surrounded by a pressure pad 14, the punch 1 being set back in relation to the die 5 so that the sheet 12 is cupped over the punch 9 before being pierced by the punch 1, the sheet then being further drawn to the form shown in broken lines in Fig. 2a. Spring-loaded pressure plates 3, 6 are located internally and externally of the die 5.
