Abstract

1,248,553. Stamping. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. 11 Feb., 1970, No. 6607/70. Heading B3Q. Apparatus for forming a metal &c. blank 18 in a die 14 with an elastomeric former 20, e.g. to produce inlet and outlet ducts for flame tubes, comprises a body 32 of elastomeric material extruded through a nozzle 30 for applying the forming force to the former 20. The body 32 is contained in a housing 22 from which it is extruded by a plunger 24. The die 14 may be split or an ejector 16 provided.
