Abstract
1377146 Electric igniters SCHOELLER & CO ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK 15 June 1972 [8 July 1971] 27963/72 Heading F4F A cigar-lighting plug for insertion in a socket comprises a plug sleeve 7, a spring 4, and a plug assembly mounted in the sleeve and comprising a heat-insulating plastics plug body 2, a handle 1, a heat-insulating ceramic body 3, and an electrically-energizable igniting-coil mounted in an igniting cup 6. The upper part 14 of the plug body is clamped between the handle and the ceramic body, and the spring 4 is supported on inwardly projecting guide lugs 25 of the plug sleeve and biases the plug assembly to its non- energized position in the plug sleeve. In use, the plug is inserted into a socket until the igniting cup is gripped by bimetal springs in the socket; contact tongues 31 of a contact disc 5 engage tongues 33 of the plug sleeve to close an electrical energizing circuit; when the igniting temperature is reached the bimetal springs release the plug assembly for movement under the action of the spring 4. A resilient ring 26 provides a resilient stop for movement of the plug assembly.
