Lighting cigars and the like by electric devices.-In an electric cigar igniter of the kind described in Specification 285,200 comprising a thermostat adapted, in the event of the glow body becoming overheated, to interrupt the circuit, an expansion capsule is employed. In the form shown, the glow body k is connected by a screw-cap i to a tube h in a hood e having an annular recess d for engaging resilient contacts b, c on a base plate a adapted to be secured to the wall of a motor vehicle. One pole of the body k is connected by the tube h with a contact strip f, the other pole being connected to a disc l. A contact strip g, adjustable by means of a screw p, is formed with a forked end through which passes a contact member n of an expansion capsule m, pressed by a spring o into contact with the disc 1. The circuit is closed by rotating the hood e so as to engage the strips f, g with the contacts b, c and, when the glow body becomes overheated, a collar on the member n is' moved out of contact with the forked end of the strip g so as to interrupt the circuit. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) a bimetallic strip may be employed as thermostat. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
