Abstract

978,442. Cigarette lighters. CASCO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. April 10, 1962, No. 13850/62. Heading F4F. An electric cigarette igniting plug of the type which is energized in a socket and removed therefrom for use comprises a tubular member 29 having at one end a gripping knob 36 and at the other end a ceramic insulating spacer 24 to which is secured a cup 18 containing an igniting coil 17, the abutting faces 23, 26 of the cup and spacer having coacting projections 41 and indentations 42 which prevent relative rotation therebetween. The tubular member 29, the spacer 24, the cup 18 and a mica insulating washer 19 are secured together by a centrally disposed rivet 21 having a slot 22 for one end of the igniting coil 17, the other end being welded to the cup 18. The abutting faces 27, 28 of the spacer 24 and the tubular member 29 are provided with indentations 43 and projections 44 which coact to prevent relative rotation therebetween. The knob 36 is screwed into an insulating disc 31 secured to the tubular member 29 by lugs 32 thereon engaging grooves 33 in the disc. A spring 39 for urging the plug outwardly when released from its energizing socket is located between the tubular member 29 and an inner sleeve 37.
