137,359. Jack, J. Jan. 2, 1919. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and volute springs and metal springs other than helical and volute springs.-In spring wheels, an octagonal plate A<3> rigid with the boss A' of the hub carries a series of projecting arms B, each pair making a wedge-shaped cup B<1>. Each cup carries a volute or like spring E bearing on a leaf spring F, the inturned ends of which engage the outer walls of the cup B<1>. The arrangement may be duplicated, or, in another form, two leaf springs may co-operate with each volute spring. A face-plate J is fixed on each side of the wheel by bolts K with spring washers allowing relative movement.
