4275. Moses, M., Moses, N. D., and Lewis, A. F. Sept. 22. Metallic spring bodies and cores. - Forked spring spokes 5, secured between fixed and detachable hub flanges, have curved outer ends 7 connected by C-springs 13. Each set of ends is bolted to a piece of curved channel - iron 15 carrying an india-rubber tread block 16. The inner parts of the spokes are fitted between fixed blocks of wood 8 faced with metal 9, and metal wedges 10 are forced in and secured to the blocks by pins or screws 11. Blocks of wood are then wedged in to make the parts rigid, and the detachable flange 3 is secured in place.
