Abstract

234,712. Sillitoe, W. A. Nov. 17, 1924. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and rubber-ring and like cushions.-In wheels of the type comprising an outer tyre-carrying rim A suspended by rubber rings E housed in peripheral pockets in the hub member C, the rings E are adapted to prevent contact of the metallic parts of the two members and to take up lateral as well as radial stresses. As shown in Fig. 1<A>, side plates B attached to the rim are connected by shouldered bolts D which pass through the centres of a corresponding number of rubber rings E housed in circular pockets in the member C. The rings E are recessed at the ends to take rubber washers E<2> which lie between the plates B and the member C.
