Abstract

1372170 Kitchen ventilating hoods POWER-LECTRIC Ltd 30 Sept 1971 [2 April 1970] 15766/70 Heading F4V [Also in Division B1] A kitchen hood comprises a transverse-flow fan impeller 12 for passing air from a bottom inlet to top outlets 65, filters 20 and 22 and a pad or pads 64 at or adjacent outlets 65 for disordering the air flow and reducing the air flow speed therethrough. The or each pad 64 may form an air filter and comprises open-celled polyurethane foam, wire wool, or a stack of staggered perforated sheets. The filter 20 is a sheet of foam plastics material and the filter 22 contains activated carbon. Each side wall of the hood has an opening fitted with a pad 45 which may be impregnated with a deodorizing liquid. A moulding 17 carries mountings for the fan impeller and its motor, and a centrifugal fan impeller may also be mounted on the motor shaft to provide a flow of cooling air for the motor. A lamp 52 is provided.
