1371121 Chromated film VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT KOMPLEXNYKH PROBLEM POLIGRAFII KOMITETA PO PECHATI PRI SOVETE MINISTROV SSSR 17 June 1972 28487/72 Heading G2C A smooth support layer is coated first with a gelatin subbing layer and then with a chromated photo-sensitive layer. The support layer has a linear deformation of less than 0.005 per cent and an average micro-irregularity of less than 0.01 Ám. It may be of polyester, polystyrene or acetyl cellulose. The photo-sensitive layer may be formed from a composition comprising gelatin, pigment, soap, glycerine, ethyl alcohol, ammonium monochromate, tartaric or citric acid and tartrazine. After exposure, the photosensitive layer is transferred from the support layer to a plate, the latent image is developed in warm water, and the plate is etched.
