Abstract

1370567 Sewing machines UNION SPECIAL MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 19 April 1972 [22 April 1971] 18055/72 Heading DIG In a thread tensioning device comprising two discs 1, 2, the pressure on one disc is increased each time a rotating permanent magnet 16 passes a magnetic control pin 9. The magnet is in a collar 15 clamped to the main shaft 18. One end of the control pin 9 is screwed into a shoe 13 carrying a disc 14, whilst the other end carries a web disc 11 which fits into a slot in a supporting rod 3 and presses against one disc. A nut 19 holds a ring of clamping material 21 e.g. rubber or a spring, against a disc. The disc 14 may be a ferrite, or the control pin 9 may carry a permanent magnet of opposite polarity to the rotating magnet, in which case the disc 14 is a non-magnetic material.
