In timing apparatus for automatically controlling a cycle of operations, e.g. of a drycleaning machine, comprising a rotatable drum 1 carrying cams 4 (one shown) which engage valve spindles, switches &c., the cams 4 are formed of segments of flexible material frictionally held in dovetail section annular grooves 2. Cams of various length may be fitted in adjustable angular positions so that the cycle can be readily altered.
