Abstract

1369237 Making S G iron FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 22 June 1972 [22 June 1971 18 Feb 1972] 29231/71 and 7704/72 Heading C7D [Also in Division F4] In a ladle (see Division F3-4) for modularising cast iron a cavity 2 is initially braded with MgFeSi, NiMg alloys or Mg impregnated coke and closed by shaft 9 which may be given vertical and horizontal movements by lever assembly 5. The ladle is then filled with molten cast iron and the shaft is opened sufficiently to control the reaction. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) the shaft has a bottom lid covering the cavity.
