1339858 Refining process E STEINMETZ 26 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 19431/72 Heading C7D Apparatus for carrying out continuous metallurgical reactions comprises an electromagnetic counter-current channel 10, 5, which moves molten metal, e.g. Fe, 4 up into converters 2, 1, and allows slag 6 to move downwardly. The refined metal from converter 1 is carried away in a further electromagnetic channel 12. If desired there may be up to five converters interposed between the bottom of channel 10 and the converter 1.
