Abstract

1365553 Head boxes for ingot moulds FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 19 June 1972 [24 June 1971] 29686/71 Heading B3F A head-box 11 for an ingot mould is provided with one lug 13 on one side and two lugs 17, 18 on the other side, the axis of the lug 13 lying at the level of the centre of gravity 15 of the headbox 11 while the axis of lug 17 lies below and the axis of lug 18 lies above the level of the centre of gravity 15 of the head-box 11. When the headbox 11 is lifted from a mould by a crane bail 24 which engages lugs 13 and 17, it automatically inverts to allow lining. After lining lugs 13 and 18 are engaged by the bail 24, to lift the headbox 11 on to a mould. The head-box 11 then automatically reverts to its original position.
