Abstract
1363925 Variable resistors BUNKER RAMO CORP 15 Oct 1971 [18 Jan 1971] 48159/71 Heading HIS When wiper contact 23 approaches an end of resistance track 35 extending between and partly over terminal pads 38, 39, blades a and d of the wiper engage the pad 38 (or 39) thereby shorting the resistance to avoid non-linearity of the resistance at the ends. Wiper 23 is carried by a carrier 17 which threadedly engages an adjusting screw 13. Conductive track 34 extends parallel to the resistive track 35 on the insulating support 30 which is held on the base 11 by lugs 27, 28, 29 which also form connections between the tracks 34, 35 and terminals 24, 25, 26. Blade f of the wiper engages the collector track 34, blades b and c engage the resistive track 35 and blades a and d short the resistance between blades b and c and the pads 38, 39 when the wiper approaches these pads.
