Abstract
1426074 Potentiometers BUNKER RAMO CORP 25 Jan 1973 [25 Jan 1972] 3862/73 Heading HIS A potentiometer comprises a rotatable and axially movable shaft 5 mounted coaxially with a helical resistor element 1 having end terminals 3, 4, the shaft carrying sliding spring contacts 7, 7<SP>1</SP> which are connected to each other and to a terminal 13 via a slider track (9, Fig. 2, not shown) on the shaft 5. Several tracks (9) may be provided so that electrical contact can be made at one of a plurality of circumferentially spaced positions by each contact 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. Alternatively contacts having different lengths may be used. The axial and circumferential separations between the contacts 7, 7<SP>1</SP> are adjusted by removing the shaft 5 from the housing 2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,243,597.
