Abstract
1363257 Annealing super-plastic alloys I S C ALLOYS Ltd 23 Oct 1972 [4 Nov 1971] 51322/71 Heading C7A [Also in Division B3] Super-plastic alloy sheet is vacuum or pressure formed, annealed before or after forming and bent or flanged at room temperature. The sheet is conditioned to exhibit superlasticity by heat treatment, quenching and working, and is vacuum formed at 200-250C. Annealing for 1-2 hours at 150-250C, or at 200C for 1 hour, is stated to have a neglible effect on super-plastic properties. The alloy may be a 78-22 Zn-Al alloy with 0À15% Cu, or a 70-30 Zn-Al alloy with 0À01% Mg.
